Sad but true. Actually, this may be done to protect the flourishing prostitution industry, which is also illegal but widely accepted in Korea. Mainly married men, and some single men, often frequent places and motels to get "service". If porn was available like in Japan, less money would be spent on live women.

There is a government task force that finds porn sites and blocks them. You need a VPN to get past it. Imagine what an industry it would be if South Korea legalized porn? The beautiful women there, just think of the potential stars.
